Yesterday your child began an exciting science program in their classroom offered by Science from Scientists. SfS is a Boston-based, non-profit organization that strives to improve science and technology attitudes and aptitudes. We send real scientists into the classroom during school every other week to teach exciting, fun, and curriculum-relevant science lessons. We will be visiting your child’s classroom every other week throughout the school year. We will bring engaging, informative, and stimulating hands-on lessons with us to supplement the school’s science curriculum.
Your child’s Instructors at Glover for this year:
Dr. Audra Kennedy has her doctorate in Anatomy and Neurobiology from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Her research focused on the enteric nervous system which controls the digestion and the gastrointestinal system. One of her favorite parts of her job is teaching students to love science as much as she does!
Mr. Ben Hart received his Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry. His research focuses on Alzheimer’s disease and its pathogenesis through age progression.
Dr. Kennedy and Mr. Hart are both passionate about exposing students to science at an early age and very excited to be working with the students at the Glover School!
Today in class we talked all about safety in the science lab and we wrapped up with an exciting puzzle challenge which taught us how to think like scientists.

Dr. Kennedy and Mr. Hart will be back in the Glover classrooms this friday for another exciting lesson. Please remember to send back permission forms and have your child bring in an empty paper towel or toilet paper tube. Thanks!
