Allow us to introduce ourselves, I am Ben and my partner’s name is Ugochi. Today your child began an exciting science program in their classroom offered by Science from Scientists. SfS is a Boston-based, non-profit organization that strives to improve science and technology attitudes and aptitudes. We send real scientists into the classroom during school every other week to teach exciting, fun, and curriculum-relevant science lessons. We will be visiting your child’s classroom every other week throughout the school year. We will bring engaging, informative, and stimulating hands-on lessons with us to supplement the school’s science curriculum.
To let you know a little bit about our science backgrounds, I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry. My research focuses on Alzheimer’s disease and its pathogenesis through age progression. Ugochi received her Bachelor’s of Science in Bioengineering and her research focused on spinal implants for patients. She has also studied regulatory affairs in drug development and is currently receiving a master’s degree in a related field. We are both passionate about exposing students to science at an early age and very excited to start working with the students at Whelan!
