The first lessons at Lipman School in Brisbane, CA went very well. and we covered The Nature of Science lesson. The students had been taught the Scientific Method by their teacher and thus they were very responsive to questions about it during the presentation. The second half of the activity, where they have to include the “new” piece of data (the square with the X on it), was very effective at allowing them to experience that sometimes doing science is not easy and can be a challenge. And during the debriefing, one of the students gave an excellent example of how science can sometimes be like doing a puzzle when he said forensic investigation. We had a great first day!
