Today was our first day with Science from Scientists at the RO. Our scientists for the year will be Dr. Pearl and Dr. Bless, and today we met a sub Ms. Ariel. The scientists will visit every other week and will always bring something exciting to do- a game, a puzzle, a building challenge or an experiment. Every week will be different and we’ll explore most areas of science including life sciences, physical sciences, space sciences, engineering, and earths sciences.
After discussing some basic lab safety today we did one of two activities, depending on the class. Some of us did group cup stacking challenges to learn how to be a good teammate. Others did a puzzle to get our minds to consider how science is always changing.
We enjoyed getting to know the RO students and look forward to bringing them some brains next time as we explore the nervous system!
