Units, Estimation and Measurement

On Monday we had a lot of fun learning about units, estimation and measurement. We measured  the length of a ribbon, the volume of a bowl of water and the mass of a battery. The students enjoyed using the different tools, especially the scale and weights! The students made guesses, estimates and measurements comparing the accuracy and the precision of their work. The difference between accuracy and precision was reviewed as this seems to be a difficult concept to remember. Ask your children if they can explain the difference between accuracy and precision, it’s a tough one.

We have enjoyed getting to know your children and look forward to more experiments and experiences in the month ahead!

Best,
Catherine Sukow and Jody Foster
