Staff met last week for our spring semester training session at the Microsoft Store in the Prudential Center. After some important announcements, we got to work learning about Stars. Dr. Sukow made some great updates to our Stars lesson and presented it to our instructors as if they were the students. The instructors also completed the activity to determine the age of the Jewel Box Cluster of stars, giving them the opportunity to see where students might get confused and how to make the directions clearer when working with young scientists. We finished off the session with some “beach ball banter” where we tossed around a beach ball with questions that had come up in the fall semester and worked as a team to answer them, giving tips and tricks to help improve our lesson delivery and coordination.
